Synopsis: This group project was a tile-based Virtual World for Angel Babies that we built with the use of a free flash ActionScript 3.0 virtual world engine and a Java based server back end. The project hasn't been completed but a lot of progress was made on it. Out of the box (figuratively speaking) the virtual world engine included multi-user support, a user interface, a map editing tool, server administration interface, simple ecommerce functions, buddy lists, public chat, and private rooms. The code base was expanded to support the loading of flash games with and without advertisements, and the playback of YouTube videos. Most of the coding and interface modifications were done by my subordinate Desirae Renta. We also replaced the maps with our own 3D environment which was created by me in Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 and largely consisted of modified 3D models from the Turbo Squid library. Together with Desirae Renta we also created our own Pong flash game called Garden Pong to illustrate the detail of our 3D environment.
